PRIVACY POLICY

The Capable Standard

Last updated: July 28, 2026

The Capable Standard (“The Standard,” “we,” “us”) respects the privacy of the people who join this network. Many of you can’t afford to be careless about where your information goes — neither can we. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it’s handled.

What We Collect

  • Email address — when you join the free list or a paid membership tier.
  • Name — if you provide it during signup or checkout.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe for paid memberships. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, or full billing details on our own systems.
  • Basic engagement data — whether emails are opened, which links are clicked. Standard for any email platform, used only to understand what content is useful, not to build a profile on you.

We do not collect your employer, agency, unit, rank, or any identifying professional details unless you choose to share them directly with us.

What We Don’t Do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any reason.
  • We do not share your email or identity with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers.
  • We do not publicly list, display, or reference members by name anywhere — on the podcast, on social media, or in any published material — without your direct, explicit permission.
  • We do not require your employer or profession to join. Anonymity in how you present yourself to us is entirely your choice.

How Your Information Is Used

  • To send the free newsletter or paid membership content you signed up for.
  • To process and manage your membership if you’re a paying member (via Stripe and our CRM).
  • To respond if you contact us directly.

That’s it. There’s no secondary use.

Where Your Data Lives

We use a small number of trusted platforms to run The Standard:

  • GoHighLevel (GHL) — our system of record for contact and membership management.
  • Beehiiv — our email delivery and private podcast hosting platform.
  • Stripe — our payment processor for paid memberships.

Each of these platforms maintains its own security and privacy practices, which you can review directly on their sites. We do not use these platforms’ data for anything beyond running The Standard itself.

Your Control

  • Unsubscribe anytime — every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. No questions, no delay, no “are you sure” friction.
  • Request your data or its deletion — email [email protected] and we’ll handle it directly, personally, not through a support ticket queue.
  • Cancel a paid membership anytime — through the member portal. This keeps cancellations processed consistently and quickly, without relying on email back-and-forth.

Children

The Standard is not directed at, and not intended for, anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we’ll notify active members by email before the change takes effect — not just post a silent update.
